BPL Presents screens Chantal Akerman’s 1975 film, Jeanne Dielman, just voted The Greatest Film of All Time in Sight and Sound’s decennial poll—its largest, with 1,639 participating critics, programmers, curators, archivists, and academics each submitting their top ten ballot. Jeanne Dielman, the first film by a female director to place in the top ten, deserves a viewing in its contemporary context and a conversation about its role as a feminist film from its release to now. Sylvia Gorelick and Christina Chalmers will facilitate the conversation.
